Information we collect
We collect the information needed to create your concert history and
operate the service. This may include your account identifier,
username, display name, profile photo, profile visibility, theme
preference, concert searches, logged concerts, ratings, notes,
public or private visibility choices, performers you add, festivals,
custom festival sets, follows, invitations, and friend or companion
requests.
Account and sign-in information
The app uses a third-party authentication provider to support sign-in
with providers such as Apple or Google. We store the account
identifier needed to connect your sign-in to your IWasThere.fm
profile. The authentication provider may process information such as
your email address, authentication tokens, and sign-in metadata under
its own policies.
Concert and social information
The core purpose of the app is to store your concert history. When
you log shows, we store information such as the show, venue, date,
artists, rating, notes, visibility setting, and related festival or
companion information. Public profiles and public concert entries may
be visible to other users, appear in follower feeds, leaderboards,
attendee lists, public profile pages, invite previews, and share
cards. Private profiles and private entries are not intended to be
publicly listed.
Photos and media
If you choose to upload a profile photo, the app requests access to
your photo library and uploads the selected image so it can be shown
on your profile. Removing a profile photo in the app removes it from
your profile, although backups or cached copies may persist for a
limited time.
Subscriptions and purchases
If you buy or restore premium features, the App Store and RevenueCat
process purchase and subscription information. We do not receive or
store your full payment card number. We may store subscription
status, product ID, store, renewal or expiration status, management
URL, and related purchase metadata so premium features can be
unlocked and synced across the app.
Device, notification, and technical information
We may collect technical information such as device platform, app
activity, API requests, timestamps, IP address, diagnostic logs, and
crash or error information. If you enable notifications, we store
your Expo push token and platform so we can send notifications such
as invites, follows, and activity updates.
Information from third parties
The app uses third-party sources and service providers to operate.
This includes public concert data from setlist.fm, artist images and
metadata from Spotify, authentication services, App Store purchase
systems, RevenueCat subscription tooling, push notification services,
cloud hosting and storage, and error monitoring. These providers may
process information according to their own privacy policies.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
- Save, display, search, and organize your concert history.
- Show public profiles, public attendance, follows, invites, stats, maps, and leaderboards.
- Sync premium status and manage access to paid features.
- Send notifications you enable or that are part of social features.
- Protect the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your
concert history for third-party advertising. We may share
information in these ways:
- With other users, when your profile or concert entries are public or when you send an invite.
- With service providers that help us run authentication, hosting, storage, subscriptions, notifications, analytics, and diagnostics.
- With authorities or others when required by law or needed to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
Your choices
You can update your username, display name, profile photo, profile
visibility, theme preference, concert visibility, ratings, notes,
follows, and many concert entries in the app. You can disable push
notifications in your device settings. Subscriptions can be managed
through your App Store account or the subscription management link
provided in the app when available.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can edit or delete certain information directly in the app, such
as profile details, profile photo, follows, festivals, and logged
concerts. To request account deletion, access, correction, export,
or other privacy rights available under applicable law, contact us
at legal@clearcontracts.io.
Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service,
maintain your account, resolve disputes, comply with legal
obligations, and protect the service. We may keep backup, log, cache,
or diagnostic data for a limited period after information is changed
or deleted.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational
measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission
or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute
security.
International processing
The service and its providers may process information in the United
States and other countries. Those countries may have data protection
laws different from the laws where you live.
Children
IWasThere.fm is not directed to children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you
believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can
take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are
material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as
updating this page or providing notice in the app. The updated policy
applies when posted unless otherwise stated.
